SUI Solo Acoustic Latin America Tour Announced
SUI is taking his solo acoustic project across Latin America this year—and Western fans who've been jealously watching Japanese visual kei artists tour everywhere *except* their region might want to pay attention.
The former David and current Fatüm vocalist will headline a series of dates under the tour banner *Visual Kei Lights: Aesthetic Gothic Light Tour*, hitting Brazil (two shows), Mexico, Argentina, and Chile. RIT Agency, the promoter behind this run, is also in negotiations to add Spain to the itinerary, so keep an eye out for further announcements.
For those unfamiliar with SUI's solo work: after David disbanded, SUI carved out a distinctive niche performing stripped-back acoustic arrangements of visual kei material. These aren't watered-down versions—they're reimaginings that strip away the band's wall of sound to expose the raw emotion underneath. If you've heard the hype around Miku's recent candlelight acoustic tour (also promoted by RIT), this follows a similar intimate formula and proves there's genuine appetite for this format beyond Japan.
The specific dates are still being finalized, but RIT has confirmed the tour is happening. Given that visual kei's acoustic touring infrastructure in Latin America is virtually nonexistent, this represents a genuine breakthrough for the genre in a region where Japanese rock fans have historically been underserved.
SUI currently performs with Fatüm alongside guitarist Kei (also ex-David) and bassist Tetsu (ex-RAZOR). His solo acoustic sets offer a fascinating counterpoint to that project's heavier aesthetic—expect deep cuts, fan favorites, and arrangements that'll remind you why SUI's songwriting and vocal delivery are so compelling even stripped of distortion and drama.
Specific dates, venues, and ticket information will be announced soon. Keep tabs on RIT Agency's official channels and SUI's socials for updates.
