Dir en grey have dropped the full album artwork and tracklist for MORTAL DOWNER, their 12th studio album due April 8, 2026. The cover — unveiled via the band's official Instagram — is exactly what you'd expect from Dir en grey at their most cinematic: a robed, cone-hatted figure silhouetted in a portal of harsh light, set against a desolate landscape and framed by dense, ink-etched illustrations of insects and writhing organic forms. Dark, apocalyptic, and unmistakably theirs.

The album clocks in at 14 tracks, one more than the 13 previously announced, with a mix of English titles and kanji that suggest the band pushing into both atmospheric and confrontational territory. Notably, the live favourite 蜿蜒 (EN'EN) — which gave their recent tour its name — appears as track 3, and 2024 single The Devil In Me sits at track 8.

MORTAL DOWNER releases April 8, 2026 across four editions — Regular (CD only), Limited Edition with Blu-ray, Limited Edition with DVD, and a First Press Limited Edition. The limited versions include a 15-track live album recorded at The Belasco in Los Angeles plus a full live Blu-ray/DVD of the TOUR25 EN'EN finale at Zepp Haneda.

The band follow the release with TOUR26 Downer Absolutely No One, a 12-date domestic run kicking off April 14, and a two-night special at Tokyo Garden Theater on July 18–19.
